Climate Change in Rapa Nui
Oceanic islands highlight for their high exposure and vulnerability to climate change. Since 2010, Rapa Nui has experienced important changes in its climatic conditions. Climate projections for 2034 and 2064 indicate that the changes already observed will become more intense, and in the case of extreme events, more frequent. In particular, fishing, tourism and natural and archaeological coastal heritage are relevant sectors for Rapa Nui, and very vulnerable to climate change.
